HWVT Celebrates Healthcare Heroes

GIVING BACK TO HEALTHCARE WORKERS

While our organization usually offers cancer patient support via therapeutic sailing excursions, Covid-19 has us pivoting to give back to healthcare heroes who serve the cancer community!

Please help us raise $10,000 to provide our community’s Healthcare Heroes with free private sailing excursions on beautiful Lake Champlain in Burlington, VT.

Healing Winds is so thankful for ALL Healthcare Heroes, who have risked everything to keep their communities safe and healthy. Instead of letting the pandemic stop us, we want to take care of the people who are taking care of us.

If you are a Healthcare Hero who works in any department serving cancer patients in any capacity, we want to take YOU sailing!  If you know a Healthcare Hero who would benefit from leaving stress on the shore, PLEASE NOMINATE THEM TODAY!

REV is Making Waves

On April 14, 2018 the REV Indoor Cycling building was turned into a nautical-themed, pumpin and bumpin & all out jumpin fundraising party!

Owner and fitness guru, Sarah Degray, opened her studio up to Healing Winds VT to help raise money and awareness for our nonprofit. With over 150 people in attendance, Sarah helped us raise over $4500!

One of Healing Winds’ nominees, Karen Newman, came to share how Healing Winds gave her and her family hope and a sense of joy on her sail right here on Lake Champlain. Karen is an inspiration to people all over the world. As an Olympic Champion, public speaker, wife, mother and cancer survivor, she captivated the crowd with her version of what Healing Winds means to her.

Teams of up to four people were created for the four hour REV-a-thon. People as far away as Montreal came to participate in this meaningful and touching event. Teams were encouraged to dress up, be silly, ride solo if they so chose, and most of all have a blast! Prizes were given throughout the day and massages were donated from Living Well Center for Integrated Health.
